our story
It all started with a dream...and a house on Brilliance Street. In 2014, we built a house, that through the building process, would fall through for us to purchase. We lost that house, or so we thought…
In 2017, with a desire from the Lord to build a house again, we took a step of faith and started to look for a house. M’Lisa woke up on Friday morning from having a prophetic dream. The dream was significant and God spoke that he was returning something that was stolen from us. The same day, we drove in the neighborhood where we originally built the house we lost and saw it was for sale! God gave us our house back! We bought it!
During the time God gave us our house, we met with worshippers in our home and studied the word, prayed together, and God started moving in a powerful way among us. It was in that house, the Lord birthed a dream in our hearts: that one day we would start a church whose hearts are united to look upon the brilliance of Jesus.

Brilliance Church is founded by Pastors Shawn and M'Lisa Newell. Shawn and M'Lisa have been serving in ministry for a combined time of over 30 years.
why we exist
We exist to be a lampstand for the transforming brilliance of Jesus (Yeshua HaMashiach). Our mission is to pioneer experiences that lead people into an encounter with the One Living God.
“When I turned to see who was speaking to me, I saw seven gold lampstands. And standing in the middle of the lampstands was someone like the Son of Man.
